Well you live and learn. I never knew that Cmd-down was like Cmd-O for a file. That's actually a pretty weird choice, but I suppose it is slightly easier to type than Cmd-O.
What I wish Apple would do in the Finder is follow Windows in using Return or Enter to open a file: select the file, hit Return to open it. That would be so good. Using Return to rename a file is just silly -- I want to open files many more times than I want to rename them.
Fortunately our hero JD bowed to my suggestion a couple of years ago and added that feature to Yummy. We just need Apple to follow...
