Login hangs
« on: July 31, 2011, 11:37:44 AM »
I have been using YummyFTP very successfully for a long time. But, within the last week something has gone wrong. I have always been able to log into my hosting account with no problems. I recently upgraded to the new OS X Lion, and updated to the newest version of YummyFTP. Now, YummyFTP will not log in, it just hangs and at the bottom of the window I see 3 different messages:

1. Connecting to server (Item: root directory)
2. Fetching file/folder listing (Item: root directory)
3. waiting for connection to get file list

I have uninstalled YummyFTP, made sure all instances of the program were deleted and reinstalled Yummy FTP with the same results.

Any Ideas?

As I noted in my email reply to your support request, this is an issue with GoDaddy hosting that has affected a few customers after they 'upgraded' their servers. You need to contact GoDaddy to try to resolve the problem but, to be honest I've seen the same issue with other customers who verified the problem persisted with other FTP clients (eg Fetch & Transmit) and GoDaddy were not cooperative in trying to resolve the issue, so my recommendation was to move providers.
