Bookmarks and passwords suggestions
« on: December 07, 2011, 11:05:42 AM »
Two ideas for managing bookmarks and their passwords:

1.  Option to store bookmark entries in iCloud.

and/or

2.  Store the passwords or somehow communicate with 1Password.   They don't have an API, but maybe you could work with them.  A FTP client with 1password support would make Yummy a clear leap ahead of the other FTP clients.

Thanks and happy holidays!

Hi Kris,

Thank you for the suggestions.

Unfortunately, the developers of 1Passwd have already been approached and they're not interested.

iCloud support is certainly something I will consider for the future, but if it's any use to you, you can sync Bookmarks across Macs right now using Dropbox and Yummy already supports that :)

Hey JD,
That's too bad about 1password - the app has alot of the functionality, features that you could tap into (why re-invent the wheel, right?).

I do use Dropbox to sync my bookmarks, and it does work, but:
1.  its not a "one-click" solution. Not a big deal though.
2.  doesn't sync saved passwords.  Bigger issue now since icloud no longer syncs keychains.  No real solution here for this.

Keep up the work on Yummy!  Love it!

I agree that I should make the Dropbox integration more automated. It's not a solution for the Keychain issue, no.

Certainly something to think about!

Thanks, Kris ;)
