Drag folder to download
« on: November 18, 2006, 11:58:51 AM »
I can drag a file or a folder INTO yummy to initiate an upload, but I can only drag a file OUT of yummy to initiate a download. Why can't I drag a folder OUT of yummy to download that folder?

Using 1.5.2 with OS X 10.4.8

Works here.

What happens when you try to download a folder? An error message? Something else?

Is there any special place that you can't download to or is it anywhere you try?

Thanks,
JD

Normally, when I drag a file, a ghosted out version of the file appears under my cursor as I drag. Also, before I let go of the mouse to initiate a copy from yummy to the finder I can see that the finder window has focus with blue highlighting. When I drag a folder I get none of this. No ghosted folder under my mouse, no highlighting in finder and no copy is initiated.

One more thing. This is only a problem in column mode. In list mode it works.

Ah, now I know the problem. It's actually a bug in the Apple-provided column view that Yummy is using. You need to de-select the folder first before dragging it. You can cmd-click on it to de-select, then click and drag the folder in one go. For what it's worth, the bug has already been reported to Apple and has a status marked as 'Open'.

Indeed. Thanks for the workaround.
