What happens to the queue after quitting?
« on: December 26, 2006, 10:24:46 AM »
I'm just getting started with YummyFTP and am not clear on how synchronizations and the queue work. I set up a scheduled synchronization, tested it successfully and then scheduled it to occur once a day. It was then listed in the Queue. However, I quit YummyFTP and the next time I opened it the Queue is empty. Has my scheduled event disappeared or is it hidden somewhere?

The scheduled synchronizations will only be saved if you are using a saved Bookmark of the server. Use 'Add Bookmark' from the Bookmarks menu to create a new Bookmark first.

I see. Turns out the schedule didn't disappear but it only shows up in the queue window when I am connected to the bookmarked directory. I was assuming the queue list would be global. Is that something that could be considered for the future?

Thanks

Ah, I see the misunderstanding now - yes, there is a queue per open FTP Session window.

I do already have some plans to improve the scheduling in a number of ways, one of which is to not be tied to a queue.

What happens to the queue after quitting? (again)

Thank you for Yummy which is a great soft. I'm just trying it for the time, and still have some problem in usiing it. I saved some connections as bookmarks, and for one of it, I want to schedule uploads every day. Problem is when I quit Yummy, open it again and connect to the site with bookmark, schedule has disappeared, queue list is desesperately empty... I've tried several things, like create new bookmark after scheduling files upload, but every day, when I switch on my computer and open Yummy, I have to re-schedule the event. Were did I wrong ?
Thanks (and excuse my poor English)

Currently, only scheduled synchronizations are remembered in the Bookmarks - transfers are not, unfortunately. I already have this as a feature enhancement on my To Do list. I will get to it as soon as I can. For the time being you must leave Yummy running for the scheduled transfers to take effect.
