Bookmarks Top 10 (Command-X)
« on: March 26, 2008, 10:50:22 AM »
Hey JD,

I've searched through the forums and I can't find my answer, for the Bookmarks menu, the first 10 bookmarks have a Command-X shortcut key assigned to them but when I change the sort order of the bookmarks in the Bookmarks window, it doesn't change on the Bookmarks application menu, is there a way to change/assign these to certain bookmarks?

Thanks a ton, because of your dedication to your user base and the quality of this app, this is my favorite program on the mac.  I've converted all my fellow mac office mates to use Yummy.  Are there any other programs that you've developed?

Hey there!

Firstly, big thanks are in order! It makes me very happy to hear how pleased you are with my work, and so much so that you've converted others to the "Yummy way" ™

Unfortunately, Yummy FTP development plus its support and sales / marketing efforts are all handled by me, so I really don't have the time to develop anything else! Well, unless I gave up sleeping or something...  :D

To answer your question about the Bookmarks, presently there is no way to assign the command key shortcuts to specific Bookmarks as they are assigned automatically to the first 10 entries in the Bookmarks list, in alphabetical order. Changing the sort order of the Bookmarks viewer window will not make any difference. I have had a few requests now to tackle this issue, so it's obviously something a lot of people would find useful. I'll see what I can do ;)

JD,

I would like to see the feature that we can assign the shortcut too.

the shortcut changes all the time when i have something new in the bookmark.

as the personal website FTP.

sometimes it's command +2 and sometimes it's command +3.

when i had more projects going at the same time, the shortcut became useless since they moved all the time.

oh well..isn't it nice to that it's not sorted automatically?

or even it's automatically, you still can set them manually since most of the time, you just wanna keep the shortcut organized, so it can save you time when. (isn't this what a shortcut for?)

I know you must be working hard for many features.

thank you. and keep up the good works :)...

DCNY

Agreed - if you frequently add or remove Bookmarks then the shortcut does become useless. I'll try to get to this asap!

It's still on my radar, danny... sorry about the wait. I am busy with all sorts of stuff at the moment, but don't worry - I haven't forgotten :)
