New feature "Open As Web URL" in 1.7.3b0 rocks !

Hello Jason,

There is a little issue with the "Open As Web URL" feature when using my iMac G5.
When I use the feature when Safari is running the URL of the selected file is not pasted in the URL field of the browser and all I get is a blank browser window (my default setting for Safari).
If Safari is closed then I don't experience this issue and then Safari starts and shows immediately the selected file.
BTW, with my MacBookPro I don't have this issue so the issue is not affecting Intel based Macs.

Hi Wim,

That's weird - I will look into it. Perhaps it is related to another bug which I fixed in Open / Copy Web URL just last night.

Interesting... I run Camino as my default browser. Just tried the Open As several times. Got a slightly different behavior. Focus shifted to Camino, it SHOULD open a new tab and display the jpeg I highlighted... but nothing happened.

So I shut Camino down and repeated. Browser launched and the proper jpeg was displayed. But on an attempt to Open As another image, again, focus shifted but no new tab was created.

It's entirely up to the browser how it deals with this, unfortunately.

Welllllll... I repeated the exact same test 3 times, with Camino, Safari and Firefox being set as the default browser. Exact same results with all 3 browsers. Except for the first launch of the browser, Open As Web URL only  shifts focus, doesn't "open/load" the file.

Tried another app that sends URLs to the default browser, it worked 100% correctly.

Re-read Wim's post... VERY odd that it appears related to the CPU (I'm running PPC)?

Found and fixed!

I'll produce a new beta asap as this bug can actually cause your Initial Path to be overwritten with garbage. Either that or it will crash Yummy... sorry!

Hello Jason,

Good to read that you found the bug.
As both me and Paulc did several tests without getting any problem with the setting of the initial path of the URL or Yummy crashes (Paulc didn't report it and I didn't experienced any either) I think the chance that something will go seriously bad with Yummy is very small.
So take it easy and take your time ;-)

Actually, no, not really CPU related. Once I found it, the bug was right there as clear as day, so I guess it would have bitten someone sooner or later on an Intel Mac, but for some reason it triggered every time when running on a PPC Mac. Go figure ...

Ah well, that's why my beta testers are so valuable and so very much appreciated!! Thanks!
