transfer rate differs
« on: May 02, 2006, 07:48:24 AM »
about 2 weeks ago, i experienced a big surprise when i see the transfer rate of all 4 sites reaching almost 40kb/s each. however, the transfer rate dropped dramatically to only a poor 6-8kb/s, anyone knows why is this happening? i am using adsl.

I don't know for sure, klkl. Maybe there was some anomaly with your ADSL line at the time. What speeds do you normally get from those servers and what is you ADSL line speed?

oh... i forgot to add another enquiry just now. u see, i tried to download a few files from the same site and a msg popped up:

Message from the Server :
Not logged in, only 3 sessions from the same IP allowed concurrently.
Error downloading: XXX
From : /===YYY===/
To : /Users/Desktop/

what does it mean?

Glad to hear you got your speed issue resolved :)

The message means that your server will only allow 3 simultaneous connections at once. By default, Yummy FTP uses up to 5. You can reduce this to 3 in the Max. Connections Per Server setting in the Transfers tab of the Preferences.

Couldn't Yummy detect this restriction and lower the simultaneous connections of that bookmark automatically?

I agree. I've added it to my To Do list.
