http support?
« on: March 23, 2009, 01:44:21 AM »
Having just wasted hours trying to get an error-free download of the iPhone 3.0 dev kit, I'm once more on the hunt for a decent downloader that will work with non-ftp sites.

YummyFTP is far and away the best FTP utility I've seen, wrt speed, accuracy and just plain tenacity. Have you had any thoughts about extending it to cover HTTP/HTTPS downloads? I have yet to find anything in Mac-land to beat FlashGet in this regard, and I *do* hate having to use a windoze vm to download Mac development software  :-[

Any plans in this area?

Regards,
David

Actually, yes it's on my list of possible to do's for the future, but for the time being I would maybe suggest using a trial version of Speed Download from Yazsoft.

Well get to it, JD  ;D

I actually have purchased Speed Download, but it has similar problems  - I have had enough corrupted downloads with no errors reported that I simply don't trust it. I also am not very impressed with YazSoft's insistence that I buy separate licences for my laptop and desktop  >:(
