Recursive permission setting
« on: November 11, 2005, 11:54:07 AM »
While the ability to set permissions recursively is useful, I'd like to have the option to turn it off by default.  I don't know how many times I've accidentally set the executable bit on all the files in a folder when I was intending just to change the permissions on the folder (and not on any subfolders). And I wouldn't even have realized I was doing it except that I got an error message when the setting of permissions on a subfolder owned by another user failed.  Great feature, but needs more control. Thanks.

Actually, I must admit I have been caught by this myself.

It will be off by default in the next version.
