1.8b3 sync problem
« on: September 23, 2009, 12:17:33 PM »
I just got the 1.8b3 version installed last night and today I found something very odd happening with the sync. I'm developing a new site so I'm generating new pages. Just now when I went to sync I was told that no items required synchonization. As you can see from the screen grab, there are several new files in the Mac directory that should have been synced.

I've never seen this behavior before with yummyftp.

There have been changes to the sync in b3, specifically for SFTP downloads, and the detection of non-existant items at the destination.

As I understand it you're using the Update Server sync? If so, this hasn't changed. Also, if you're using plain FTP then nothing has changed.

My guess would be that you need to enable 'Automatically detect time offset' in the sync setup window before syncing.

I'm doing an Update Server sync via SFTP. The sync dialog does have the detect time offset checked, I use that on all my syncs.

All the Options check boxes are selected except for "Compare matching files only" and "Completion report".

I've got the radio button for "newer files have:" set to "Later modification dates"

I had to get work done so I'd manually uploaded the files in question. I just created another file and this time the sync picked it up. I hadn't changed any settings.

Ok. If you want a fast response time, the user forum is not the place. I respond quickly to email at support at yummysoftware dot com

If the problem comes back, repeat it with 'Enable diagnostics' checked, the when completed send me the FTP Transcript file - select Save FTP Transcript from the File menu.

Ok. I'm going to try to reproduce this here by re-creating your directory listings from the screenshot. I'll report back :)

Barry is right, sync has a bug. I have fixed it and I will post a new beta asap!

BIG THANKS to Barry for finding and reporting this bug! :)
