upgraded and has all bookmarks deleted
« on: July 15, 2011, 10:48:59 AM »
Hi I've run the auto upgrade to the latest version of Yummy and now my bookmarks were lost.

`i found them in the trash but moving them back to the bookmarks folder didn't fully help.
I don' have any of the passwords stored any longer and finding the 40 - 50 ftp passwords I had in the bookmarks is going to be a nightmare.

Is there any way I can recover this info?

Please help!

PS: love the app, use it all the time and saves me heeps of dev time

As we discussed by email, this is caused by the Bodega store, not Yummy. I will be removing Yummy FTP from their store immediately!

I will see if they know how to recover the data they deleted.

I am not impressed!  >:(

Yummy FTP is now removed from the AppBodega app store.

I am waiting for a response from their support regarding this issue, but I certainly won't be going there again.

I had the same problem. Here is what fixed it for me:
1) Find your bookmarks in the Trash. They are files ending in .bkmk. Mine happened to be in /Yummy FTP 21-09-14-674/Bookmarks/.
2) Copy those .bkmk files to /{Your computer's name}/Library/Application Support/Yummy FTP/Bookmarks

This is very very odd.

1.8.5 does use a new location for all Yummy settings, inside Application Support, which is required for the Mac App Store, but the old location (inside Library -> Preferences) is still supported if it exists!

I don't know what is moving them to the Trash though. Yummy is not coded to do that...

I am investigating, but I am actually away on vacation for 2 weeks, so it's tricky as I don't have my development environment here.

My advice for the time being would be for any upgrader to move your Yummy FTP folder from Preferences to Application Support.

As soon as I have more info I will post back. In the meantime, I am sorry for any inconvenience.
