Yummy FTP Aliases need Yummy FTP installed also?
« on: May 31, 2015, 11:11:11 PM »
Just to make sure I understand:
Yummy FTP Alias does not create standalone uploaders I can distribute. It is necessary to have Yummy FTP installed on user's machine also. Is that correct?

Yummy FTP has FTP Alias built-in, and these require Yummy FTP to be installed to work.
Yummy FTP Alias is a stand-alone app, which does not require Yummy FTP installed and the created FTP Alias droplets work independently as separate apps.

In both cases, FTP Alias can no longer be distributed to another Mac since Apple changed the code sign rules in 10.9.5. Prior to that FTP Alias was completely self-contained and this was a major feature. Believe me, I complained bitterly to Apple, but they do what they want at the end of the day...

Thanks for explaining. What a drag. Apple's stance doesn't make much sense to me.
