Title: Compression question
Post by: midavis on February 26, 2014, 04:31:59 PM
I'm a long-time user of Yummy FTP and love it. I've been unable to get the "compression" function to work when creating an FTP alias from within the full Yummy FTP application. Today I purchased "Yummy FTP Alias" to see if this would solve the problem on Mavericks 10.92.

I was just hoping clients could be able to drag a folder onto a created Yummy FTP Alias and have their folder of files ZIPped and uploaded.

Please note I have never tried the compression before today so there's a good chance I'm doing something wrong. I'm using SFTP and checking "compression" in the settings. Any ideas? Thanks.

The compression option is an SFTP protocol specific option, compressing all data transferred between the client and server. This can be useful over slower connections.

There is no option to zip files before sending, sorry! Although it would be a good idea for Yummy FTP Alias for sure… ;)
