Title: SSL?
Post by: brilla on December 05, 2005, 09:29:10 PM
How difficult would it be to implement SSL encryption?

That, and the PRET support are really the only things keeping this program from being a perfect client for me.

I've never beta tested software before, but would be interested in it.
If you're ever looking for beta testers let me know... brilla at mts.net

Thanks again,
-Steve

SSL/TLS support is already planned. I'll let you know when a beta is available which has it included.

OK right on, any ETA on that?

If you need a beta tester for anything, (not just ssl) feel free to ask, I'd like to give it a shot.

few more suggestions that you also probably already have planned:
These are all more GUI related:

1) Multiple servers is nice, but can get messy.  tabbed windows (similar to captainFTP) would be great.

2) A control-click menu for the items in the queue (start, remove, schedual, move up, move to top, down, bottom etc.)

3) A priority queue, rather than a first in first out queue, so... adjustable.

4) A "New Connection" option in the customize toolbar menu.

Thats all for now.

The implementation is already underway, but I've got a lot of things being developed simultaneously right now, so it's difficult to give an estimation. Real Soon Now?™ is the best I can come up with :)

Beta testers are always very much welcomed. Just send me an email address you'd like notification of new betas to be sent to.

Now to your suggestions:

1) This has been requested a lot and so I'm working on it.

2) Something like this is already planned.

3) Isn't the ability to re-order items in the Queue going to provide this already?

4) Would the New Connection option simply display the New Connection window?

Thanks for the feedback!
