Title: suggestion: Bookmarks drawer Post by: tu11ym0n on January 12, 2006, 04:18:40 PM after being fed up with Transmit's lack of support/customer service I figured I'd give Yummy FTP a try - especially since it seems to be getting good reviews on Versiontracker, etc.
So far so good, except for the "Maintain modification dates of transferred files" bug which doesn't seem to be working for me. One suggestion though would be to add the Bookmarks as a drawer similar to the Preview and Queue drawers. Right now I need to keep it open as a separate window and make sure not to close it. Another oddity, (and maybe because I'm used to Transmit) is that when you disconnect from a server the files still are viewable. I guess I'm used to disconnecting and the window then changing to a new connection window/bookmarks. Keep up the great work. Just the fact that you have a Wiki and a Forum is years ahead of Panic's Transmit. Title: Re: suggestion: Bookmarks drawer Post by: JD on January 12, 2006, 06:22:58 PM Thanks for giving Yummy a try, and welcome! :)
Since I'm already dealing with your modification date issue via email support, I'll post the result of my suggested fix here when you have confirmed it. If I am correct, the solution is to enable the 'Validate suspect file datestamps' checkbox in the Server Options tab of the Preferences. This is a known issue and is fixed already in a new build which will be released shortly. The Bookmarks in a side drawer is already being worked on. I hope to include it in the update after next. The disconnect functionality is indeed different to Transmit as you noted, in that once you disconnect you are presented with input boxes to make a new connection. With Yummy, you can leave the server as-is until you need it - then it will automatically reconnect. So, for example, you could drag files to a folder in the server listing while it is disconnected and Yummy will re-connect and then upload to that folder. Thanks for the wonderful compliments! I'm working hard to provide everything I can :) -Jason Title: Re: suggestion: Bookmarks drawer Post by: JD on January 16, 2006, 09:10:04 AM Please note that the modification date issue is now SOLVED: tu11ym0n has found a bug that only shows up when downloading files to a mounted AppleShare volume, rather than to a hard drive in your Mac. This has now been corrected and the fix will be included in the 1.1.6 update.

Thanks so much for all your hard work and dedication to finding and resolving the issue. It was definitely the best customer support experience I've ever had with a software company. The kicker is that I wasn't even a paid customer yet! I am now (and so are my co-workers), and I'm evangelizing everyone I know to switch to Yummy FTP. I look forward to your future projects and to the continued development of the best FTP client for Mac OS X! :)
