Title: Icons...
Post by: paulc on May 19, 2006, 10:11:26 AM
1.5b4. Somehow I had never quite reconciled the folder icons Yummy uses for the server browser. They always seemed inconsistent (yes I have the "icons reflect permissions" on). With this latest release, it looks like they are consistent (i.e. a folder with a red circle with a minus symbol). Well, mostly, 2 folders are plain while all others show the red minus symbol.

But, I'm not too sure what they reflect. A red circle with a minus sign would tend to say no to something... I checked help, but couldn't find explanations. Is there a crib sheet somewhere that details what icon means what?

BTW, I got an idea and turned on display of the alpha permissions codes... the icons are not consistent with the codes! I further see that some red/minus icons and writable for everyone and some are not writable for everyone. At least owner.gropup is the same for everything in there!

The icons are meant to represent the access permissions that you have. However, it's not guaranteed to be 100% accurate simply because the FTP protocol doesn't provide all the information required to do so. Yummy makes a 'best guess' given the permissions and user/group information provided by the directory listing and also your login name.

That said, I'll check this out and see if I can find any mistakes :)
