16  Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / icons reflect permissions bug in 1.5? on: May 25, 2006, 11:35:20 PM
hey there -

just got the email that 1.5 was released and downloaded it.  congrats on such a fine job!

one thing I noticed with the new release is that the "Icons reflect permissions" preference seems to be buggy.  Starting with the 1.5 release I just downloaded, when I log into my site the icons indicate that all the files and folders are "locked" - even though they aren't since I am the owner and I am able to edit/modify them. But somehow the wrong icons are being displayed in the window.

Anyone else having this problem?  Obviously one needs to have the "Icons reflect permissions" preference checked...

ahh that's an awesome feature!   Cheesy

glad to hear the bug's been fixed.

I haven't received the email with the download link - which address did you send it to?

Please do add me to the beta tester list -- I'm honored!

No other FTP client comes close to what you've done and continue to do with Yummy FTP!
18  Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / This file appears to have been updated since your last upload. Replace? on: April 13, 2006, 11:36:31 AM
Another bug I've been experiencing a little more frequently is when I am editing a file remotely and make changes by saving in BBEdit, and then make another change a minute or two later and try to save, Yummy FTP tells me that the file has been updated since my last upload and does this through the "sheet" dialog in Yummy FTP's main window. However, if I am editing a file remotely in BBEdit, BBEdit is the active application and therefore I cannot see the "sheet" dialog in Yummy FTP's window (although the Yummy FTP icon does bounce in the dock).

The problem is that it requires an extra step or two each time I make an update to a file -- I have to make Yummy FTP active and confirm that I want to replace the file -- even though I am the only one editing the file and the file hasn't been updated since my last upload/save.

Several times I have made sure that my server's date/time match my Mac's exactly. Yet for some reason, every now and then Yummy FTP thinks that the file I am editing has been updated by someone else since my last upload.

I hope I am explaining this clearly enough. The main thing is I want to get rid of all the repeated confirmation sheets each time I save my changes. If the bug that makes Yummy FTP think someone else has updated the file while I have it open can't be identified and fixed, maybe you could add a checkbox to the confirmation sheet that allows setting "do this for all" or "always replace".

thanks!
19  Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / This file is already being edited remotely on: April 13, 2006, 11:24:34 AM
I'm experiencing some occasional bugs whereby Yummy FTP reports that the file I'm trying to edit is already being edited remotely, even though I've clearly closed the file and it is not being edited. This doesn't occur frequently, but enough to make me believe something ain't working right.

I'm running v. 1.1.6b15 on OS X 10.4.6 and connecting to a Debian Linux server running ProFTPd as well as a RedHat AS 3 server running VSFtpd.

I'm editing the files remotely w/ BBEdit 8.2.5

Any ideas what the issue is?
20  Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Re: suggestion: Bookmarks drawer on: February 03, 2006, 03:20:02 PM
indeed it has been solved!  Cheesy

Thanks so much for all your hard work and dedication to finding and resolving the issue.

It was definitely the best customer support experience I've ever had with a software company. The kicker is that I wasn't even a paid customer yet!

I am now (and so are my co-workers), and I'm evangelizing everyone I know to switch to Yummy FTP.

I look forward to your future projects and to the continued development of the best FTP client for Mac OS X! Smiley

21  Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / suggestion: Bookmarks drawer on: January 12, 2006, 04:18:40 PM
after being fed up with Transmit's lack of support/customer service I figured I'd give Yummy FTP a try - especially since it seems to be getting good reviews on Versiontracker, etc.

So far so good, except for the "Maintain modification dates of transferred files" bug which doesn't seem to be working for me.

One suggestion though would be to add the Bookmarks as a drawer similar to the Preview and Queue drawers. Right now I need to keep it open as a separate window and make sure not to close it.

Another oddity, (and maybe because I'm used to Transmit) is that when you disconnect from a server the files still are viewable. I guess I'm used to disconnecting and the window then changing to a new connection window/bookmarks.

Keep up the great work.  Just the fact that you have a Wiki and a Forum is years ahead of Panic's Transmit.
22  Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / "Maintain modification dates of transferred files" not working? on: January 12, 2006, 01:24:00 PM
Within the Transfer preferences, the "Maintain modification dates of transferred files" checkbox is checked. However whenever I download a file from remote to local the local file's modification date is the current time, not the time of the remote file.

For example, I have a file "home.php" which was last modified last night at 6:34pm.  When I download it to overwrite my local copy it shows up as being last modified as today at 1:20pm.

Is there a bug or am I not understanding what the "Maintain modification dates of transferred files" is supposed to do?
