And localization on OS X is a dream compared to most Windows apps (quite impossible for non-coders).

It's better to have good programs only on OS X.  Grin

It doesn't matter. Thanks for helping.

Hi,

thanks, but LeapFTP also asks to upload instead of automatically uploading. FTPEditor is no solution because I also need a full-featured ftp-client and I also have Editors with ftp capabilities.

Hi,

thanks for helping. I tried all mentioned and all ftp-clients I've found for windows and only EmFtp and CuteFTP have seamless remote editing, but both support only their own editor. If I set an external Editor in CuteFTP there's still a question if I want to upload. As EmEditor is my preferred Editor EmFTP could be my FTP-client but EmFTP has so many bugs and the developers have stopped developing it.

Now I'm hoping that my boss will buy an Intel-Mac soon, so I have to use Windows only for some apps.

Oups, I was sitting infront of a PC.

Couldn't Yummy detect this restriction and lower the simultaneous connections of that bookmark automatically?

Hi Jason,

just to continue for the masses ...

> so long ago. I wonder if those CyberDuck
> people would pay $10?

I think they would pay if it has such an easy interface like CyberDuck and all features CyberDuck has. Then it should have some advanced features CyberDuck does not have like the error-handling and fast transfers. But it's not easy to get people to 'upgrade' to Yummy, even becuase Yummy is still missing some features like the bookmark-drawer, Bonjour, Localization in many languages, considering http://www.freesmug.org/portableapps/ and maybe the Widget or Growl-Support.

In the beginning Yummy Lite should be advertised for emigrants. (disappointed with slow ftp-transfers?)

Yummy Lite should automatically import Bookmarks if it detects CyberDuck (or others) in the system.

Also interesting are event-prices for Yummy FTP, like a x-mas discount. On PC I bought my first Mail-Client TheBat because of that x-mas discount (less than the half price). Later then I bought two major releases. Without the discount I would never have bought TheBat. The x-mas-version was shipped with a custom x-mas startup-screen and as I remember right it also had some different presets to make it look more simple.

Hi Jason,

I thought spacific can recommend a win-client. Tango FTP is ugly, slow and doesn't has remote editing.

Hi,

hmmm... dotmac is to expensive to me and I already have enough webspace. Well, I've a webdav-server. Can .Mac be used to use a different webdav-server?

Apple has found the lost option-stickers and now as they have so much of them they put both on the new MacBook's.

Hi,

I'm also a switcher and cross-platform user and first it was a general problem to me that the Finder is little bit different how it can be controlle with the keyboard. Now I learned to use the Finder and it's okay that all Apps acting with files have the same behaviour. But I also have sometimes the problem that I just try to press Enter to enter a folder. I think an option would be nice.

Why is Cmd-E not standard? What's the standard-key for editing? I like that hotkey and so when working with lots of textfiles I use Yummy instead of Finder. Also on Windows there's EmFTP which uses Ctrl-E and most other FTP-Clients there have different or no hotkey or just don't have remote editing.

Well, very offtopic: I'm still searching for a Yummy-equivalent on Windows. Does anyone know? I tried FileZilla, SmartFTP, PsFTP, FTP Voyager, WS_FTP ... and they all lack in comfortable remote editing.

Hi,

I think that should not be limited to .Mac. What about the possibility to store/sync the preferences on a ftp-server?

Yes, mixing an alias with a browser is not a good idea. An alias should be an alias and nothing more.
