Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Re: Problem when uploading files that are begining with a blank space.

I've just tested this and had no problems whatsoever. The error message you're getting is not from the upload itself (which was successful) but from the setting of permissions on that file after it was uploaded. So it sounds to me that your server does not work well with files that start with a space character. I also tried renaming the file both in the Mac listing and the Server listing (you did not say which) to remove the space character at the beginning. The file was not deleted, but it did reposition itself lower down in the listing because the listings are sorted alphabetically. I think you assumed that the file was deleted, when in fact it simply moved lower down in the list and out of view. I will need to see an FTP Transcript from you showing this problem occurring. That way I can be certain that my diagnosis is correct. Please ensure that you enable the 'Log all connections' checkbox in the Transfers tab of the Preferences first, then perform your transfer. Select 'Save FTP Transcript' from the File menu and send the transcript file to me by email at the support email address. Are you the only one with this problem? All I can say is that nobody else reported such problems, and certainly, using file/folder names that start with a space character is never a good idea

Yummy FTP / Yummy FTP Talk / Re: Yummy FTP 'Lite'
|

Some very good points. Thank you. I haven't had many requests from people for a lite version, actually. It's just something I've seen mentioned in forums many times - people wishing for a cut down version of that app with the truck And it makes some sense, too.. most of Yummy FTP's feature set is for more advanced users. So I've been toying with this idea for some time, and now I'm asking opinions to see if it's worthwhile. The price for the full version of Yummy FTP is competitive, indeed. But there are some free apps out there, too. I guess I'd like to hit the middle ground between the free and the expensive. If you can call $25 expensive, of course... Upgrades are a plus. I didn't consider that. Interestingly enough, a lot of users appear to be coming from the PC already, especially ones who used Flash FXP for some reason. I think the lite version would have to be very light, as you say, otherwise there is little to gain in purchasing the full version. But there does need to be a balance. For example, synchronization is present in a free alternative, albeit less feature-rich and polished. You get what you pay for Free is not really an option for Yummy FTP, I'm afraid. I look forward to more opinions

Bandwidth limiting is an already requested feature. It would be nice to add, I agree. If anyone has a problem with a public FTP site, then absolutely please do list the site! Not only will it help beta testers to make tests, it will help me debug it. Anytime there is a problem and I can access the site to reproduce it is a good thing

I have seen that many people's FTP needs are very limited, and those people are put off from purchasing Yummy FTP because they feel that $25 is a lot to pay when they will never use 90% of Yummy FTP's capabilities.
To address this, let me know how you feel about a $10 'Lite' version of Yummy FTP that would have minimal features, bearing in mind that the last thing I want to do is undermine the full version, of course.
If you think it's a good idea, which features should be included?
Thanks, Jason

No problem For 1. If you use Bookmarks of your servers, then Favorites are already stored per server, both local and server Favorites. For the second part of your question, select Show All Bookmarks from the Bookmarks menu. This will show a window in which you can organize your Bookmarks into folders if you wish.

Most of your suggestions are already present in Yummy FTP. 1. Mac home folder (Local path) is stored the the Advanced Settings tab of the Bookmark editor window. Check the documentation links for more details. 2. You can use the Filters option in the Listing menu to have items included/excluded from transfers, synchronizations or browsing (3 checkboxes). There are separate filters for local and remote files. If enter your strings in the filters and then un-check the 3 checkboxes, the filtered items will be coloured red. Check the documentation links for more details. 3. In the Preferences the Interface tab has a 'Show/hide List view columns' menu to select this. Check the documentation links for more details. 4. Already planned. 5. Drag the files to the queue drawer, or select Download/Upload Later from the contextual menu or from the Transfer menu. 6. That's easy to add 7... ok... 8. No problem. Hola 9. You're welcome.

That's weird. Did you ask Wacom's support about this issue? Maybe there is a driver update, for example.
I wouldn't be too hard to check for duplicates like this, but I'm not sure I should. If it's Wacom's bug, they should fix it.
Unfortunately I don't have a Wacom tablet to test with, but see if you can reproduce the problem in Interarchy, for example, or any other FTP app that will allow more than one simultaneous transfer. Fetch and Captain FTP will not.

Saving the queue, I agree. Pause and resume transfer are other features that have been requested.
Could you elaborate on the sort queue? I don't understand exactly what you want. Just the ability to sort the list by one of the list headings, as you can in the FTP Browser listings?
Removing items in the queue is already implemented. Select the item in the queue and click the X button in the queue drawer. Do you mean something else?
