Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Renaming file causes it to disapear

If you start to rename a file and then put Yummy in the background before you finish renaming the file, the filename becomes blank.
1. Click on a file and start editing its name 2. While still editing the name, click on the desktop 3. The name will disappear. 4. Click "refresh" to make the name reappear.

Yummy FTP / Yummy FTP Talk / Next Version
|

Im not trying to be pushy or anything, I was just curious when you thought the next version of Yummy might come out. There are several feature requests that you have said you would work on and I am sure that there are some bug fixes that have been made in the 3 months since the last release. Is there anywhere where we can download a beta?
Thanks

Yummy FTP / Problems & Bugs / Cannot reconnect after timeout
|
on: July 11, 2006, 07:44:14 PM

I am using Yummy to edit HTML files on my remote server. Once a day I go to lunch. When I return, I want to resume where I left off, however the SFTP connnection that Yummy uses has timed out. What should happen is that Yummy re-establishes the connection and keeps going. What really happen is that I perform some action and Yummy sits there and tries to do it forever without success (the progress bar just animates forever). If I disconnnect and reconnect, everything starts working again.
What makes this doubly annoying is that there is no indication as to when a connection has timed out, so I need to perform some action, wait 30 seconds to realize that it has hung, and then disconnect and reconnect. I use Yummy 8 hours per day and this happens at least once a day, sometimes more.
Minor, I know, but thought I should report.
Thanks

Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Duplicating a file

What is the first thing that everyone does after they duplicate a file? They rename the duplicated file or move it someplace.
Moving it is easy, but renaming it requires some extra clicks. I suggest that when you duplicate a file, the filename of the copied file should be immediatly selected so that you can start typing the new filename.

Yummy FTP / Feedback & Suggestions / Faster uploads when using external editor
|

I use an external editor (BBEdit) to edit HTML files directly on the server and then refresh my web browser to see the changes. Each time I save the file, Yummy procedes to establish a connnection with the server and then upload the file. It would be faster to reuse the connection that is already open and just upload the file right away. When I am doing many quick itterations, the extra few seconds that it takes to make the server connection really adds up.
Compare speeds with Cyberduck and you will see what I mean. In Cyberduck, when you save the external file, it is uploaded in 1-2 seconds whereas Yummy takes 4-5 seconds.
This would greatly improve my productivity.
