FTP Watcher not working
« on: January 19, 2008, 05:14:30 PM »

I am involved in a project where I have to upload many files to my hosting provider's server. What I have done is put FTP Watcher in a folder I have created which is supposed to send the files to a specific folder I created on the server. As I work on the files and save them to the folder with FTP Watcher in it on my Mac, they are never copied to the designated folder on the server. Even after half an hour. Am I doing something wrong?

In effect, I would like to be able to work on files on my Mac and have them saved directly to the FTP server.

Thanks!!!

Have you started the Watcher? You need to double click it in the Finder for it to start watching the folder.

Thanks!! It worked. Is there any way of hiding the file transfer window that comes up when it is transferring files to the server?

No, there is no way to hide the transfer status window, unless you hide Yummy FTP as a whole. Sorry

Is the Watcher's  window the same as the FTP Alias? Will it save the window position/size? Perhaps you can have the progress window "positioned" so the minium amount of space is taken up... as long as it stays that way!

Yes, you could do that. Just move the transfer window to your preferred position and it will pop up in the same place next time. Not quite hiding it, but at least you have a little control.
