I'm having various issues with 1.8.2. This appears to only be happening with zipped files. The first is that a file will appear to be downloading properly in Yummy but if you look at the file on the desktop it will report Zero KB as the file size and will not increase. In the Yummy window it will appear to finish downloading and then will start over and remain zero. These are large files, usually over 1GB, zipped and they appear to unzip fine when the host checks them.

Please un-check Ignore Betas in the Software Update panel of the Preferences, Save, then select Check For Updates from the Yummy FTP menu.
This will allow you to download and install the latest beta version.
Please let me know this resolves the issue.

There seem to be no software updates or beta versions right now. Here's a transcript, non-zipped 3.27GB .mov file.

Thank you, but I really need to see the complete transcript, or at least bit more of it... according to what you posted the transfer was aborted.
Can you verify that you are indeed using version 1.8.3 beta by selecting About Yummy FTP from the Yummy FTP menu?
I'm performing some tests right now to see if I can reproduce the issue.

Sorry, didn't you say the problem was only with zip files?

Just to report back, so far I'm unable to repeat any issues with .zip files of various sizes from 1.5GB to 3.5GB. I can't think of any reason you would see this problem...do you maybe have MacBinary encoding enabled?

I thought it was with zip files only but after I requested a non-zipped version I had the same problem.
When I went to the software update in prefs it said there were no updates available.

Also, I stopped the transfer because I was getting a file with zero kb and the file size was not increasing, even though it appeared to be downloading in Yummy. I guess I should let it go for one cycle but if I let it go all night it will just keep looping and will never increase the file size. Maybe I'll try it tonight and see what the log looks like in the morning.

Please:
1. Confirm which version you're running by looking at the About box 2. Confirm that you have selected either Binary or Automatic selected as the encoding 3. Do not cancel a transfer as this won't help diagnose the issue 4. Send me the entire transcript after you've left Yummy transferring overnight, even if it fails or does not complete
Thanks
For certain, whatever is going on with you isn't happening for everyone otherwise I'd be inundated with support emails, and I'm not. So this issue must be specific to either your setup, or your server.

I've discovered the problem:
Using Rumpus FTP server, it transfers *by default* in MacBinary format, which doesn't support large files.
Switch encoding to Binary (Raw Data) from the Transfer -> Encoding menu, and all will be well.

I'm going to make some changes to automatically deal with this issue in the next build. For what it's worth, this issue will only affect the very very small number of servers that support MacBinary. In fact, I think there might only be one these days... Rumpus. All other servers will not exhibit this behavior. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

That's it! Thanks and I'll let the people running the ftp know as well. Downloading the file now to test. Thanks again.

Great! Thanks for the confirmation - I can stop tearing my hair out now For what it's worth, there is a checkbox in the Encoding tab of the FTP Settings in Rumpus 'Allow automatic MacBinary encoding'... this should be UN-checked to ensure the problem doesn't happen again.
