Which version did you upgrade from initially?

If you open Keychain Access (in Applications -> Utilities) can you see your servers and passwords there? Note that you need to enter your keychain password to see the server passwords.

If your server Bookmark details contain http or https colon double forward slash then this is the source of the problem : it's an incorrect setting (it should be ftp or nothing) and Yummy was previously using webserver passwords as a result.

previous install was 1.8.2.

I'm using ip-s for sites. After add a site, the password appears in keychain. I can see something like this in keychain's Where field: ssh://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx or ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Despite this yummyftp asks me the pw every time i try to connect.

After downgrade to 1.8.2 i have no prob with passwords.

Strange, I just tested exactly this with v1.8.7 on my 10.7.2 system and it worked perfectly.

Perhaps somehow the 'Store passwords in Keychain' setting in the Server Options panel of the Preferences is off?

'Store passwords in Keychain' is checked. I'll try a clean install. Remove everything and install again. If that not helps, should i reinstall osx?

It's very strange. Try fist to just remove the Yummy preference file :

com.yummysoftware.yummy-ftp.plist

in Mac HD -> Users -> yourname -> Library -> Preferences

If your Library folder is invisible access it by selecting Go to Folder from the Go menu in Finder then enter :

~/Library/

Note that this does not affect Bookmarks

How are you getting on?

I wondered, in Keychain Access are the passwords for your server set to allow Yummy FTP 1.8.7?

I have the same problem here:

OS 10.6.8
Yummy FTP 1.8.7
"Store passwords in Keychain" checked

Password are stored in Keychain, but they are not retrieved.

I have removed the com.yummysoftware.yummy-ftp.plist file with no luck. Yummy FTP is allow to access Keychain.

Any idea?

Thanks!

Very strange!

Please double-click the entry for your password in Keychain Access and email me a screenshot of the 'Attributes' tab for the information window which is displayed :

support at yummysoftware dot com

Did the entry already exist, or did Yummy create it?

If you delete the Keychain entry does it make any difference?

Screenshot sent. Yummy created the entry. And if I delete it, it will re-create the entry.

So, I think the problem is not about creating the entry but retrieving it. If I delete Yummy FTP from the application access list, when I try to open a connection, Keychain doesn't prompt me for Yummy to gain access.

Since I need to see how the entry is configured, fuzzing out all the settings makes the screenshot kind of useless.

I just wanted to see if re-creating the entry would fix the problem. I do understand the issue is with reading the entry.

I really need to see how the keychain entry is set up, otherwise it's not possible for me to help.

For what it's worth, I have plenty of keychain entries for Yummy FTP Bookmarks and they all work, so there must be something specific about your entry which is causing this issue - that's why I need to see the settings.

New screenshot sent with all kind of details. I created a new connection from scratch and same issue. When I re-create the entry, nothing changes.

Thanks Juan :)

For those following, we are discussing this via email and I will post any conclusion here.

At the moment my own tests on 10.6.8 and 10.7.2 show no problems.

Just to follow up :

Juan used the Keychain Repair / First Aid option in Keychain Access and now everything works.
