Transmit 4 bookmark import
« on: December 19, 2011, 12:57:33 PM »
Hello, I read that Yummy can import Transmit 4 bookmarks.. yet when I select the Transmit checkmark in "Choose which other FTP..." I only get an empty Transmit folder. What am I doing wrong ? Thank you.

I'm sorry about that. It seems Panic decided to move the location of their data again! Boy, they must be very worried about importing their favourites to keep moving/changing the data...

I will get this fixed up for v1.8.8 (coming soon) but in the meantime, just copy all the data from here:

Mac HD -> Users -> Library -> Application Support -> Transmit -> Metadata

to here :

Mac HD -> Users -> Library -> Caches -> Metadata -> Transmit

Then try the import again.

FWIW I just verified that this works :)

Note that in Lion (if you're using that) Apple decided it would be a great idea to hide the Library folder from users.

You can access the Library folder by selecting Go to Folder from the Go menu in Finder then enter:

~/Library

... and click Go

Works :-) Thanks.
As for Apple making the library invisible under Lion.. I thought it was a glitch in my system. Guess not.

Just as  a followup, I've now adjusted this in the latest build :)

The fix will be included in 1.8.8b4

Perhaps the duplicates are from Favorites that are set to protocols other than FTP/SFTP?

No. They are all FTP

No. They are all FTP

Ah, I see the problem:

Yummy imports all the Favorites as well as any connection saved in the History, and of course this means that any time you had connected via your Favorite then there will be an entry in the History for it.

Unfortunately, there is no way for Yummy to differentiate between a Favorite or History item, so this is why you end up with duplicates.

I'll modify the behaviour so that if a duplicate name Bookmark is found it will see if the actual settings are identical : if they are then another Bookmark will not be created.

Thank you for alerting me to this issue :)
