New window to open offset
« on: December 13, 2011, 07:46:24 AM »
Hi Jason,

It's not a big deal but I thought to mention something that would make life a little easier:

Right now, when I open a second, third, etc. ftp session, the new window(s) open right on top of the old one(s), covering it/them up. This has made me try and find my yummy ftp windows and making me wonder if one didn't open, etc. when everything was just fine and in place.

If a new window could open "offset", just like the Finder or Firefox has it, it would allow for a little more clarity with a little better visual feedback.

If this is not too hard to do, I think it would be a useful improvement.

Just my 2c :)

Thanks,

Zoltan

Hi there,

Some people like it the way it is because, for example, on a MacBook there isn't much room for cascading like that. Perhaps I should introduce an option for cascading...

Maybe this will be of help:

With the 'Independent window settings' option checked in the Preferences, each Bookmark remembers its own window positions, as well as toolbars, layout, etc.

With the option un-checked then all windows share the same remembered window position, toolbar, etc.

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Thanks Jason,

That "independent window settings" option does help.

And I think it'd be awesome if you could indeed implement a setting for cascading too :) That way us, guys with bigger screens could go to town :)
