macApp store version witheout "FTP alias" ???
« on: February 23, 2012, 06:13:57 AM »
Today there was an e-Mail in my inbox: Yummy is a MacStore App now!

2 minutes later i changed to the AppStore version, because of the easy updating and because of the low price today... 0,99 $

After installing the App i noticed, that there is no FTP ALIAS function on board... cannot understand, why?
I use this timekeeping function a dozend of times a day and now i have payed twice for a Version, which is less useful

I'm not amused, friends of Yummy FTP... i'm absolute NOT amused !!!

What is to do? Don't tell me: "Downgrade" to the "normal" Installation !

Hi Pepe,

I released the Mac App Store version about a month ago actually, and described the missing functionality in the Announcements section. Please take a look.

That is one of the reasons the App Store version is only 30% of the regular version price - $9.99. And for today only it is on sale for just $0.99.

Existing FTP Aliases created with the regular version of Yummy FTP *are supported* by the Mac App Store version. It is only the creation of FTP Aliases that is not supported in the App Store version. However, you can still edit FTP Aliases with the App Store version too.

Do you really create dozens of FTP Aliases every day? Surely you mean that you *use* them dozens of times a day. If so, then it is still working as always.

I will work to bring back the FTP Alias create functionality to the Mac App Store version in a future update.

Best regards,
Jason

Hi Jason,
thanks for your quick answer. You are right, i USE the aliases to upload many times a day, not the FTP Alias create functionality!

please, give me a hint or show me the way, how to do so. Is there something in the Help?
Can't find the "trick"

Is it possible, to duplicate existing ALIASES on my iMac and change the "content" to aim to the new directions?

Can't find the "trick"

Select Show All Bookmarks from the Bookmarks menu
Without selecting any Bookmark click the Edit toolbar icon
Navigate to your FTP Alias and select it then click Open (You can also drag the FTP Alias into the Open window)
