FTP Watcher v2 not 'watching'
« on: July 22, 2012, 02:42:21 PM »
I have previously been using Watcher v1 in the full FTP package.  Since the watcher part is all I really need, I got a copy of Watcher v2.  I like that you can see/start/stop each watcher.

However, when I created a watcher, it doesn't actually process any new files that are dropped into the watched folder.  It lets me create the watcher just fine, and select the folders on both my Mac and the server.  I selected an audo upload + archive, since I want to archive what gets sent to the server.  When I turn on the watchers, it shows 'Watching...' as the status.  It just doesn't ever do anything with files I drop in the folder.

With v1, it placed an application file for the watcher, in the folder being watched.  I don't see that v2 does that?

Seems like it must be something I've not done right, but I don't see a lot of ways I could have gone wrong.

Hmm that's odd indeed. You're right that v2 doesn't need to be placed I to the watched folder as the config and monitor of watchers is all centralised in v2.

Please send me screenshots of your watcher config and I'll see what I can find.

I am in exactly the same situation as the original poster.  Successful use of the v1 watcher and the full FTP package.  I removed the v1 watcher (to another folder and set up Watcher v2 on the target folder & remote folders.  It  appears to be successfully set up, communicates with the remote server and indicates 'watching' on the desired local folder but does not do anything when files are put into that folder. I tried both upload and upload&archive and different scan times 30sec and 5min.

Has any solution been found for this problem.
