Auto Download + Delete orphans during sync

I have a question about FTP Watcher settings!

FTP Watcher has the option to 'Auto Download'. 
And then there is the option to 'Delete orphans during sync'.

With that combination, just to be certain, what files are going to be deleted in what folder and under what circumstances?

Unfortunately the documentation is particularly thin on these two items...

The 'during sync' options only apply to sync Watchers. I'll make this clearer in an update.

But, erm, 'Auto Download' is an option in the 'Watcher details' section.  Also in the Bookmarks list Status column it says 'Watching...'. 
So you are now saying this is actually not a watcher?!?

Sorry, newbie question, but all indications point to the fact that I am actually creating a 'Watcher' here, no?
Am I getting this wrong?

Why then if 'Auto Download' is not a watcher, can I in the Advanced Options select 'Delete orphans during syncs'?  Shouldn't it be grayed out then?


Either way, if I understand correctly, you are saying that for the 'Auto Download' Type it makes no difference whether I select the Delete orphan option or not. Correct?

Yes, you're creating Watchers of course. The clue is in the name of the Type of Watcher... that is, Sync : Update Mac, for example, is a sync Watcher.

Auto Download is not a 'sync' watcher so the options that have 'during syncs' in their name will not have any effect.

BTW, seems the Help Tips are not actually working on either the 'Delete orphans during syncs' nor the 'Watcher detail' 'Type' popup (let alone the 'Auto Download' popup selection specifically). 
I do get help tips in all kinds of fields and checkboxes, but not on these 2.  A bug?  A feature?  Check For Updates... tells me my Yummy FTP Watcher software is up to date.

And unfortunately there is no other help nor explanation about either of these two items.  Hence the confusion.
Yummy FTP explains well what the 3 synchronize options are, but Auto Download or Auto Upload is not explained anywhere.
Like what happens if there is a date conflict.  Are dates even checked with Auto Download and Auto Upload?  Or what happens if an existing file is locked and cannot be overwritten.  Those kind of things I wonder about...

I'll add documentation via Help Tips for these items in an update. The reason most items have tips is that the product is built with Yummy FTP itself as a basis, so they share many functionalities and (of course) user interface elements.

The Auto Up/Down load options work on date modified examination primarily to determine which file is 'newer'. If a file cannot be transferred for some reason an alert will be displayed, a Growl notification will be posted, and the transfer will be re-attempted at the next update interval you have selected for the Watcher.
