0 byte files
« on: November 01, 2013, 03:36:34 PM »
Hi there,

I've been able to upload files via Yummy for a long time now without any problems until today.
Suddenly the files after uploading are 0 byte files, so empty files.
Any one a solution or having the same problem? I work on OS X Mavericks.

I have try un upload with FileZilla and that worked well.

Thx. Robert

Perhaps there may have been a temporary problem with your server. If you try again can you repeat it every time?

I certainly don't have any other similar reports nor have I experienced this myself on Mavericks, although there are definitely bugs in the new OS that's for sure, so it can't be eliminated.

If it's repeatable, can I test with your server?

Hi, No its not a temporary problem with the server of my customer, it repeat every time. Cant put my finger on it. If i use FileZilla or Transmit it works fine.

It works fine but suddenly the problem is there. I now tested on other servers and there was no problem so i think its a consisted problem on that server with Yummy.

Cant give you server details because its from a customer. But after the test I don't think its Yummy.

Odd…

Maybe you have an incorrect setting for the Encoding setting? Check the Transfer menu -> Encoding and set it to Binary when you are connected to your server, then repeat the test. Does it make any difference?

Perhaps you could repeat the issue and send me the transcript file… maybe there is a clue. Select 'Save FTP Transcript' from the File menu and mail it to me : support@yummysoftware.com

Same problem here. I am trying to download PDF-Files from my server and some cannot be downloaded - neither in binary nor any other mode. This is a problem because I have to make a backup of those files in order to remove them from the server. YummyFTP has overwritten my previous local backup with 0 byte files.
The problem might be connected with the filenames having spaces and umlauts in them. Like Überman file.pdf or the like.
The rights/owner/group of the files are - mostly - the same as for other files I am able to download.

kind regards,
aki

Not the same problem as the original poster reported the issue for uploads. Your report is for downloads.

I'm not sure what the original problem was as I was never contacted, but certainly this is the only report I've ever received of such an issue.

As previously, am I able to connect with your server to test this for myself? Please contact me:
