YummFTP keeps crashing after upgrade to new iMac
« on: January 05, 2014, 07:26:45 AM »
I used Yummyftp (apps Store version) for months on my old iMac (OS 10.9.1). A few days ago I upgrade to a new 27'' i5 iMac (OS X 10.9.1) and installed Yummyftp from the App Store again. Since then the software keeps crashing. I can log in, but as soon as I try tao delete a folder, it crashes. Every time. I tried to delete and install Yummyftp again, but this didn't help.

Any ideas?

There is a known issue with right-clicking which is caused by a third party contextual menu plugin having an incompatibility with 10.9… look for :

 /Users/yourname/Library/Contextual Menu Items/FritzCMPlugin.plugin

Remove it, reboot : problem solved :)

As for the forum registration, yes I could dumb it down some but then it would be (again!) flooded with fake registrations from Chinese and Russian bots trying to make posts to their stores selling Viagra and porn. For the sake of a few simple questions, I think it's worth it...

Thanks for the quick and correct answer, that was it indeed! Strange, that this plugin did not crash my old iMac, it must have been there before.

For the posting: Don't you think one captacha or one question would be enough?

Great :)

I'm not sure why it wasn't a problem before. Are you sure the old Mac was running 10.9.1 too? Anyway, it's certainly the cause, as I've seen it reported within other apps too.

You'd think one question would be enough for forum access confirmation, wouldn't you? But no, it wasn't enough to stop those spammers.
