Hi JD,

Spotted a little error (I don't think it's intended) with bookmark passwords and connection failures.

Version 1.10.1 (MAS)

The issue:
If a connection fails (server/network offline or incorrect details etc) and you edit the bookmark in the sheet the password can be lost.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Attempt to connect to an existing bookmark with a saved password (that you know will fail)
2. Wait for the connection to fail you get the message: 'Yummy FTP failed to establish a connection...'
3. Click OK and the bookmark sheet opens
4. Edit something like the IP and click save
5. Yummy tries again and fails
6. Bookmark sheet reopens, click cancel
7. Bookmark's password is now empty in the saved bookmark

Hope that's clear, let me know if I can give you any further info.

Jamie

Hi JD,

Couple of things:

1.
I think step 4 on my list is unnecessary you don't have to change anything the password is always lost after failure I believe.

2.
I wondered if you manage to get a fix for this into the 1.10.2 beta? I'm running the MAS version at the moment but I can switch over.

I keep getting hit by this one because a number of servers I work on use IP blocking. If my IP changes then I get a failure and lose the correct password.

Cheers,
Jamie

Jamie, I'm sorry - it completely slipped my mind. I'll get a fix to you asap with a complimentary free license for your trouble.

Not a problem! I'm patient  ;)

I don't need a complimentary licence I've been using Yummy daily for the better part of 10 years – I want to give you money! In fact I just upgraded my old 1.9.4 licence.

Hi JD,

Just a quick follow up I'm still occasionally losing passwords on version 1.11. Is this something you've looked at?

Example flow:
1. Open bookmark
2. Connection fails (e.g. internet down)
3. Bookmark sheet pops up
4. Change nothing (all correct), click save
5. Connects correctly
6. Close connection
7. Try to reopen connection from bookmark or just edit bookmark and the password is empty

Cheers
Jamie

Actually I'm not sure again. I edited a bookmark to change the initial path yesterday – I've just reopened it and now the password is gone. Is the password being lost if any edit is made? Not certain. I'll try and test it later.

Jamie, my apologies: this slipped off my radar. I'll re-investigate shortly.

Thanks JD.

I hesitate to suggest it's this simple but it seems as though if there's a password and an edit is made then the password is lost. If there's no password and one is added it's saved. Something like that anyway, good luck tracking it down.
