Could not create file.
« on: November 27, 2015, 09:32:11 AM »
I'm receiving the following error and I can't seem to find a similar issue.

Message from the server:

Could not create file.

On the server, part of the file has been started. The total size is a little over 100mb and only 10mb or so has been transferred.

So, the file has actually been created. It will not continue tho and retrying is futile.

Thanks for any help.

Bob

Sounds like you're out of disk space in the server. Contact your hosting provider for assistance or try removing unnecessary files to free up space.

This is a commercial FTP server to a client who manages hundreds of large transfers per day.

I am uploading around a thousand files in this batch and I am only receiving errors on certain files during the transfer.

Ok, it's the server sending this message (not Yummy) so it would seem the server has an issue with some of the files you're sending, but since there's no other clue or reason given, I'll still have to recommend that you contact whoever runs the server and ask them for their insight as to what the problem might be.

I really appreciate your help.

It was a problem with the client's server.

One of the many things I like about Yummy FTP is the fact that it continues to upload the rest of the queue if it encounters an error.

I'm uploading thousands of files to multiple clients right now which requires unattended use overnight.

Thanks again for this great FTP program.

Quick question... is there an easy way to see a log which shows if there were any errors in a queued transfers?

You're welcome :)

You should check out the Logging feature which I recently added. Look in the Preferences and click the Enable Logging option to record the various selectable actions and errors. It's not enabled by default so anything from now on would be logged.
