What is the expected behavior of Sychronize - Update Server?
« on: December 13, 2015, 03:10:04 PM »
When i select the option Sychronize: Update Server, what should happen?  For example, if I am syncing from a local folder to a remote FTP site, and I change a file in the local folder, will Watcher send the updated file up to the remote server?  If so, how does that differ from Auto Upload?

Thanks.

Yes, that's what will happen with both Watcher types, except that there are some fine differences between the two:

Sync : Update Server is derived from the Sync engine in the Yummy FTP 'Pro' app and is specifically designed with updating websites in mind. This is also useful for existing customers of Yummy FTP 'Pro' who want to utilise scheduled syncs for many sites.

Auto-Upload is exclusive to Watcher and is more like a 'hot folder' - designed to be much more reactive to changes for a simple or flat file structure

I appreciate the follow-up!

Is Synchronize:Update Server strictly for Yummy FTP Pro?  I do see it as an available option in my paid-for version of FTP Watcher, so does it work in Watcher as well?

Thanks,
