Help with "After Transfer" option
« on: December 30, 2015, 03:22:04 PM »
My use case is that after a file has finished transferring to my local computer from a remote FTP server, I will then manually move the file locally. However, that triggers FTP Watcher to download it again. I thought that by checking the option "After transfer > Exclude source item", it would prevent that. However, FTP Watcher still re-downloads the file. Am I using that option incorrectly?

The option excludes the source item (not destination) from being transferred again, so there is no need to manually remove it, and if you do then there is no need to use the "After Transfer" option at all.

The issue you have is that you're using a Sync : Mirror Watcher, which is bi-directional (both upload and download) so as soon as the Watcher sees the file on the server but not locally then it will download it, just as it's designed to do.

You probably need to change to a Sync : Update Server Watcher.
