Multiple Instances of Yummy with different settings?
« on: March 04, 2016, 03:09:55 PM »
I use Yummy every day for managing websites for the company I work for.  I'd like to start sharing my bookmarks internally at the company so I can have others access these ftp locations and we don't have to keep a spreadsheet of user/pass info.  I know I can share the bookmarks via the Dropbox sync feature, I do that already between my desktop and my laptop and it works great.

Is it possible to have one version of Yummy with Dropbox sync enabled and certain settings, and another version of Yummy with a totally different set of bookmarks?  This way I can have one instance of Yummy for work FTP info, and one version for personal FTP info?

It looks like I'd need to duplicate ~/library/Application Support/Yummy FTP so I could have two sets of preferences.  Is there some place inside the YummyFTP.app contents I can adjust the preferences location?

This feature already exists by the very fact that Dropbox sync has been added. The moment you disable Dropbox sync in the Yummy FTP Preferences you go back to using your private local-only copy.

So, your current Bookmarks are at:

Mac HD -> Users -> your name -> Dropbox -> Yummy FTP -> Bookmarks

When you turn off Dropbox sync you go back to using:

Mac HD -> Users -> your name -> Library -> Application Support -> Yummy FTP -> Bookmarks

Of course when you re-enable Dropbox in the Yummy Prefs then you're using the Dropbox ones again.

Hope that helps?

You know what it does!  I'm not sure why that didn't occur to me.
I have two computers I'd like to be able to have synced up so I might have one folder on Dropbox for work and one folder on Dropbox that only I can get to for my own personal bookmarks.  Then all I need to do is switch between the saves.

Thanks  :)
