Default Editor (TextMate) Shown as "Not Installed"
« on: April 15, 2016, 09:58:43 PM »
Hi,

I am not sure if this *is* a bug but here it goes. In Preferences, Remote Editing, I have selected TextMate as the default editor, as this is my go-to editor, but it is showing as "Not Installed". I have TextMate 2.0-beta.9 installed. Right Click, Edit is greyed out, but Right Click, Edit With... does present me with the TextMate option, which works perfectly.

I am using Yummy FTP Pro 1.11.544 currently, but this behavior was also there in previous versions.

Thanks,
Anthony

Hi Anthony,

I purposely haven't added TextMate2 as a supported editor because at the time it was in beta. But it's been in beta for years now, so I might consider moving it to a supported editor. Seems wrong to me, but there you go! :)

Thanks,
Jason

Ok, next release : if you select TextMate in the Preferences and the original app is not found the Yummy will now automatically look for TextMate 2 and use that instead.

Thanks Jason - I don't particularly agree with keeping software in beta like that for years either (but it is what it is, I guess) but it still beats quite a few of the potential contenders out there; well for me at least :)
