Download problems (server busy)
« on: April 24, 2016, 10:29:46 AM »
Hello,

I am using yummy pro from a lot of times but in the last period I have some problems during the download of files from a server.

In practice, the download starts and the most of files (small text files) are downloaded but on the remaining ones the process hangs with the message "server busy". Yummy tries to restart the download more and more times of these files but it fails because the server is busy.

Now, the server is not busy, indeed I used other two sftp applications to download the same files and they did instantly. So what is the problem with yummy?

Moreover, there is a place where I can download the plist file with the default setting of the application? Maybe there is something wrong with my setting and I would try the default setting avoiding to uninstall yummy.

Thank you for the help.

Server busy very often means the server is limiting you to fewer connections that Yummy's default setting of 5. Try setting the Max Connections setting in your Bookmark to something like 2 (to start with) and see if the problem goes away - I expect it will. Then you can try increasing the setting to 3 or 4.

Great!!!
Thank you so much JD, the problem was the Max Connection value that I set to 15. Unfortunately I have problem even setting this value to 3 but with 2 it is ok. Problem solved.

There is a place where I can download the com.yummysoftware.yummy-ftp.plist file with the default settings?

Great to hear that solved the problem :)

It's unfortunate that you can only get 2 connections as this drops the speed of multi-file transfer considerably, but at least it's working!

Sorry I skipped on the prefs file question...

If you quit Yummy, delete the prefs file, then force quit cfprefsd in the terminal or Activity Monitor, the prefs will reset.
