Repeated Error: No Such File Or Directory
« on: August 22, 2017, 04:25:39 PM »
I am trying to find a piece of software that will simply notify me when there are any changes on my FTP server. I am trying out Yummy FTP Watcher.

After initially synching my local and FTP folders, I keep getting two errors:

"Can't change directory to logs: No such file or directory"

and

"Can't change directory to error_logs: No such file or directory"

I don't have either of those folders in the FTP root folder, so I'm not sure what it's referring to. I actually created these folders in both my local and FTP root folders, but that didn't change anything. I am guessing it's referring to a subfolder, but it doesn't display a path that I can check.

Any ideas?

Firstly, Watcher doesn't currently provide a notify-only function (this is on my To Do list) so any detected changes will be transferred to your defined Mac local folder.

The error reports would appear to be from subfolders, probably un-resolved symlinks from the sound of it. Try un-checking the 'Resolve symlinks' and 'Treat symlinks as normal items' options in the Server Options panel of the Preferences, close then re-connect and try again.

If that doesn't help, please email me (support@yummysoftware.com) and I'll investigate further.

Thanks, turns out it was two symlinks buried inside some subdirectories.
