Hello,
synchronizing doesn't work. One ftp server stands in Europe, the other one in Asia. Time settings are correct set. Yummy ftp synchronizes ALWAYS in the wrong direction! After a connection error it uploads the partial downloads and destroys the files! This makes the software more than unusable, it's a desaster. quwax

Since there are lots of people using Yummy's synch feature with great success, I wouldn't quite call it a 'disaster'.
Please describe to me in more detail the 'connection error' you got.
You say after the error that it uploads partial files - are you saying that before the connection error that it was doing a download synch?
If you have partial downloaded files then these undoubtedly have newer modification dates than the original files on the server, therefore they will appear to be newer versions than those on the server and so Yummy thinks they should be uploaded.
Maybe you have selected the 'Mirror' Synchronize option rather than 'Update Server' or 'Update Mac'. The default selection is 'Update Server' but it sounds like you want to select 'Update Mac' to download the files from the server. The 'Mirror' option will both upload and download files.

There are 2 folders which should be mirrored. One ftp server is on a dynamic ip and the connection to that server broke down during a the synch process. After the connection was reestablished yummy was overwriting the original file with the partial download. After that experience I switched back to Interarchy. That works and recognizes, if a partial download file is on one side and continues to up-/download the file.

Thank you for getting back to me, but please could you clairfy the configuration under which this occurs?
I ask because you make it sound as though this happens every time, but I can't repeat any such problem (and boy, how I have tried!) nor has anyone else reported it. Having said that, I do understand the frustration of software which doesn't behave as you expect, and I'm sorry that Yummy didn't do the right thing for you in your particular set of circumstances.

configuration is pretty simple: mirror two folders in a way that both folders have the same content (first option in the pulldown menu). And the software should do it once per hour. As far as I remember I didn't change any of the other options, so I set Yummy to respect different time zones. Maybe I should have set the option from date to filesize, but actually I'd expect that yummy would recognize a partially download file as such, but it didn't and this might be the only problem here. best wishes Q.

Thank you.
So, to be clear, you experienced this issue with an unusual configuration - a Scheduled Mirror Synchronize with an unreliable server. I will make some further investigations using this configuration and try to simulate an unreliable server.
For what it's worth, the vast majority of people will be using an Update Server Synchronize, without a Schedule, and with a reasonably reliable server, so it's extremely unlikely that anyone else would have experienced this bug - no wonder I've not had it reported before. Let's hope I can reproduce it - if so, I will fix it right away!!
