My Leopard Family Pack will arrive the day after tomorrow. I'd love to know if YFTP, one of my favorite apps, will be useable or will I have to wait for an update.
I'm aware that developers haven't yet received the final verion of Leopard, but I'm hoping Jason might be willing to issue a qualified comment about Yummy FTPs compatibility with Leopard.
FYI, Cabel Sasser, of Panic Transmit/Coda fame, has just written:

The currently shipping version of Transmit, 3.6.1 as of this writing, works mostly great in Leopard — with the exception of one or two surprise issues (one of which is related to editing text files internally) that we discovered late in the Leopard cycle...
Coda
... The currently shipping Coda, 1.0.5, will work great in Leopard.

Ok, here is my official statement  The current release (v1.6.1) works pretty much as expected under the last beta version of Leopard. I did find quite a few bugs introduced by the new OS, but these have all been reported to Apple and I trust that they will be fixed, if they are not fixed already  Having said that, I will be providing an update to Yummy FTP very soon after the official release of Leopard is available - right after I've had the time to install it, test it out for myself and iron out any last minute gotchas the good guys in Cupertino have sent my way  -Jason |

Ok, here is my official statement The current release (v1.6.1) works pretty much as expected under the last beta version of Leopard. I did find quite a few bugs introduced by the new OS, but these have all been reported to Apple and I trust that they will be fixed, if they are not fixed already Having said that, I will be providing an update to Yummy FTP very soon after the official release of Leopard is available - right after I've had the time to install it, test it out for myself and iron out any last minute gotchas the good guys in Cupertino have sent my way -Jason That's great. I want to say that I just tried out Flow, and Yummy FTP blows it out of the water. In all honesty, it is the best FTP client I've used on any platform, at any price. I am an engineering student and use FTP all the time. Yummy is worth it's weight in gold to me. I can't wait to see the new version that works perfectly on Leopard. Are we going to see any new features... not that I need any more? Also I want to say that many shareware developers are giving their software away at low or no cost to get the word out about their software. I have to really really like a piece of software to recommend it at all if it costs. I never would've seen or tried out Yummy FTP without MAAD. The MAAD discount was what got me to try it out and buy it. I am now a Yummy FAN! Thanks JD! |

Thanks, FantoMelt! There are some little additions, so it's not purely a compatibility update, but no new features at this time. Let's just concentrate on getting past the initial Leopard-sickness for now |

I'm really sorry for the delay on this. Although Leopard is very cool, it really does have a lot of bugs in it ... I get the feeling that it was rushed out the door, even with the delayed October release. Nevertheless, the 1.6.2 version that I am planning to release on Tuesday (6th Nov) will address the majority of the issues that Leopard raises, but please note that there are some bugs in the OS that I simply can't work around, so it's down to Apple to fix those with 10.5.1 or 10.5.2 - hopefully no later than that. To that end, we need to to make sure Apple listens and I therefore urge everyone who finds a bug to report it to Apple: http://bugreporter.apple.com |

Only a very small number of your users or forum readers are going to find bugs. Would it possible to list some of the bugs so that many more of us can 'report' them in one form or another? I guess you would need to give enough detail to make it possible to make a sensible report. Is that going to work? or are they bugs that only developers would be aware of?

Well, bug reports don't need to be of a technical nature, and I don't expect everyone to 'go vote' for my list of bugs at Apple. I meant things like a crash or other odd behavior, and not just in Yummy - the whole OS. Things that a user experiences which can be easily described For example, there is a bug where certain icons display garbled inside the Preview Drawer. I've logged this as a bug, attaching a screenshot of the corrupted image, describing how to reproduce the problem and providing a link to Yummy FTP as an example app that exhibits the behavior. As it happens, that same bug occasionally causes a crash in Yummy, so I've sent the crash report too. There is a 'Report To Apple' button that users can choose when an app crashes |

I am *very* nearly there! Hang tight! And yes, 10.5.1 is rumored to be circulating as a developer seed sometime this week. I suppose some of the most major bugs will be fixed in that build, but given that Leo has only been out for less than 2 weeks a .1 update so soon can only mean a .2 and probably .3 will be coming soon afterwards. Interesting times indeed! |

I do like the new icon, even if it will take me a bit to get used to seeing something other than the old one. The new interface rocks and it seems to be running quite smoothly. I will pass on any bugs that I might find to you ASAP. Thanks for your hard work. |
