Capturing log files
« on: February 14, 2008, 01:02:23 PM »

I have an apple script that is launched at night and uploads a file to a remote site.  We are trying to find a way to verify that this is working each night.  Is there a way to automate saving a connection log file so that it can be emailed to our support group to verify that the upload was successful?

You should install Growl, an event notification system which has an email option. Yummy FTP interfaces with Growl, so when your upload is complete you'll get an email notification from Growl. You will also get a different notification if there is a failure.

Would growl work with an FTP Alias from a machine that doesn't have the full Yummy software?

That could be VERY cool...

Yep, FTP Alias supports Growl notifications regardless of whether Yummy FTP itself is installed or not Grin
