Socks 5 proxy function doesn't work

I just updated my Yummy to v1.7 and tested with the socks 5 function. I only got a dialog kept saying "server is busy, waiting for retry". This problem bothers me for a long time, I'm sure the function was fine about one and half year ago.
Please check this for me, thanks!

One and a half years ago?? :o  I wish you had reported the problem then as a lot has changed in that time.

I will set up a test as soon as I can, but in the meantime, please check that you have configured the FTP Proxy settings correctly. Check that you can Ping the server you enter using the Network Utility app (located in Applications -> Utilities) and for SOCKS the default port number should be 1080.

Actually, the proxy server works fine with the other FTP client "Transmit". I'm pretty sure the server is alive. After one and half year, I still couldn't get used to "Transmit". That's why I made up my mind to report this issue. :)

I have tested with the latest release and it seems to be working for me. Perhaps you could test with the latest version:

I tested with the latest version (1.7.1b14), got the same result. I'm wondering if it's a server problem. The server application I'm using is proxyplus. (http://www.proxyplus.cz/) ProxyPlus used to be working with Yummy and still works with Transmit. Can you give me the server application you're testing with that I could do some cross verifications.

I just downloaded 1.7.1 and verified the problem, it's not fixed. :-[ Did you verify the problem?

Yes, there was definitely a problem and SOCKS did not work. After the fix it works.

You will need to produce a packet trace for me to see where the problem is. This can be done with Ethereal or tcpdump from Terminal. If you need assistance to set this up, please email me : support at yummysoftware dot com

I am using version 1.90 from the Mac App Store (the latest version) and I still get that "server busy" with a socks5 proxy?

This was definitely an issue prior to v1.7.1 where I made a fix, but the original poster never came back with a packet trace so I assumed all was well.

If you're having this issue then I'll need to see a packet trace to determine where the problem is.

Edit: I've just received your email. Once I've checked your configuration is okay I'll need a packet trace and we should continue this session via email.
