Update mac behavior
« on: March 28, 2008, 12:44:02 PM »

Hi JD, running update mac script will occasionally trigger a wholesale replacement of the mac files with the server files.  I've learned not to freak when it happens because they're still correct files.  The expected behavior of course is that only updated files will move.  Do you have any idea what might be triggering this?

Actually on second thought I can think of some situations where the upshot wouldn't be correct but in my workflow I know they are (I think..)

Thanks,
Dave

Have you got 'Automatically detect time offset' enabled in the Bookmark which is scripted? If not, it's possible time difference changes could trigger it.

That's what I thought at first but it's checked.  I'll double check the portable when I get a chance.  But in any case it seems to occur randomly.  I was wondering if there's anything that might be occurring server side with my host (maintenance activities or something?) that could be behind it.

Also make sure you're using the latest build. There was a bug a fair while back in the automatic time offset detection that account for the problem. The latest build is here:

See how you go with that
