Hi,
I apologize if this is a common question (couldnt find it in the FAQ) but when I transfer files from my local to my website the datestamps are not preserved. The server-side files are stamped with the time/date of when I copy them. Is this a bug or a limitation of ftp? I really want to choose Yummy FTP but I'm looking at other products (either Forklift or Transmit).
Thanks, Roland Thomas

If you're using plain FTP then you need to enable the 'Use MDTM to set server dates' checkbox in the Advanced Options tab of your Bookmark. This option is not enabled by default because many FTP servers don't support the MDTM command, unfortunately.
If you're using SFTP then datestamps should be preserved by default. If they are not then it is a problem with the server, although that is rare - I have only seen it once.
