Error resolving hostname (sitename): nodename nor servname provided, or not know
« on: June 03, 2008, 04:23:18 PM »

I keep getting this error message on one of my bookmarks which is SFTP. I am able to get through to the rest of my bookmarks. Everything has been working fine up until i downloaded the update. Running 1.7.2 now.

This message means that the server name provided in your Bookmark cannot be resolved to an IP address for Yummy to connect to. It is not a bug in Yummy, nor anything specific to the 1.7.2 update.

To confirm this, use the Terminal application (in Applications -> Utilities) and enter

sftp nameofserver

where 'nameofserver' should be replaced with your server's host name (eg sftp.serverNO LINKS ALLOWED) and then hit the Return key. You should see the same / similar message.

To resolve the problem you need to contact the server administrator and tell them what is happening.
