Dual-Scrolling Issue
« on: April 09, 2008, 12:45:28 PM »

Hey JD,

Is there anyway to disable the dual-scrolling?

If my local folder has 100 folders and 200 files in it and my remote folder has no folders and only 100 files, if I scroll in the remote side, it scrolls down to the bottom of the files, but the local side only scrolls down to the bottom of my folders.  No idea how to fix that and I don't personally get a lot of benefit from the dual-scrolling, so how would I disable it?

Thanks,

There is currently no separate preference for that, although I could add one. It's either DualBrowse on or off at the moment.

The DualBrowse feature is designed for sites where the local and remote sides match in their directory structure, so browsing on one side can be mirrored on the other. If there is a mismatch then Yummy does the best it can to keep the lists in sync.

I love the DualBrowse feature for going up and down through the directory structure, just not so much in love with the scrolling.

It's obviously not a real issue, I'm sure there are other things much more important to fix, I just thought I'd mention it =)

it would be great to be able to switch scrolling in dualbrowse on and off. for me it's the same case. either local or remote folders can contain much more files. so if i scroll either side there is no real sync in both listings.
i love the dual browse feature, but the scrolling is no use for me. maybe you could sync the dualbrowse better. so when opening a new folder then both listings should open the browser at the same position.

Yes, it needs a switch - I agree. I will add one for the next update Smiley

Somebody:

I have not used Yummy for several months now.  I just now updated one of my Macs to 1.7.2 from 1.6.  I have a second copy on another Mac which I'll leave at 1.6 for now.  It doesn't have the dual scrolling "feature".

This dual scrolling business would be OK if you would give me some way to shut it off.  This software should come up with that off by default.

So how do I shut it off?  I have searched through Preferences and I see no mention of dual scrolling.

Sorry, the DualBrowse feature has been around for quite some time - nearly 2 years - but the synchronized scrolling enhancement to it was added for the last release.

Currently there is no way to disable just the scrolling part - either DualBrowse is on or off, and by default it is off.

I plan to add a switchable 'synch scrolling' preference for v1.7.3
