Synchronize 2 folder (sites) on localhost?

I like to be able to synchronize 2 folders (sites) on my localhost. One folder is a actual site on my MAMP/WAMP local instalation and the other is just a folder on my computer?

Do you have any hint how to acheive that?

You could enable the FTP server built into OS X and then connect to your own Mac using Yummy. Once connected you can navigate to the MAMP/WAMP root directory in the server list of your Mac, and your other copy on your Mac using the Mac listing.

Enable FTP Access in the Sharing panel of the System Preferences on Tiger, or in Leopard click the Options button in the Sharing panel when you have File Sharing selected, then enable the FTP option.

To connect to the server enter 127.0.0.1 in the Server field of the New Connection or Bookmark window and use your OS X name and password in the same fields.

I follow your directions and I was able to sync and upgrade a Joomla site in no time. You just shave hours of redundant works wiyh no errors, no problems...

Yummy is now a major tool in my Toolbox of professionnal tools...

FTP Access is missing in Mountain Lion

What You need to do.

1— Go in Mac / Preferences / Sharing
2— Tick On Remote Login and in My Case I Allow Access only to myself (as a Mac User)
3— In The Yummy connection window
—> enter the Local server 127.0.0.1
—> Enter Your exact User Name  (From the Mac / Preferences / Users & Groups)
—> Enter your Mac Password
— Put Secure (SFTP) (Port 22)


Trick: To find the local path of a folder drag it on a PlainText (Not RichText) TextEdit Windows

In fact, Apple simply decided to hide the FTP checkbox in the Sharing panel of the System Preferences, but the FTP server is still there! You can re-enable it with a freeware app or you can mess in Terminal for the same:
