FTP Watcher on AFP server
« on: April 26, 2009, 07:31:12 AM »

Hi all,

First of all, congrats on a fully featured FTP client on the MAC OSX as a professional webdeveloper for over 13 years I am impressed over and above about your client.

When creating an FTP Watcher on an AFP server via netalk on linux, the procedure occurs as normal, it asks for a filename etc and method upload / upload and archive. When creating the FTP Watcher, it renames it to FTPWatcher regardless of what is entered and to my horror, access' the keychain then tries to connect to 127.0.0.1 with username <edit>removed<edit> and then promptly deletes all files that the watcher container folder has, this seems a somewhat dangerous bug.

I have created the FTP Watcher on my actual mac drive and then copied it to the desired folder and it works normally as expected. I would be interested in your comments regarding this potentially dangerous bug.

One feature I am desperate for which has been mentioned previously is entire site watchers whereby all folders are listened for changes and uploads of the whole site are done rather than a folder by folder watcher by watcher basis.

Thanks JD, do you remember the username, it was useful as its not anything to do with me ? I have no usernames that relate to this.  Can you confirm it is a developer username as I am exceptionally worried about where or why this appeared.

I appreciate your prompt reply.
