Synchronization feature - how to change target directory on Mac?
« on: August 23, 2009, 03:16:11 PM »

Hi al,

I am currently trying to set up Yummy FTP to pull down files from an FTP server to a local directory. Everything looks fine, except that I can't seem to be able to change the target directory on the Mac. It is preset to the Desktop, but I'd would like to use a directory on the network. Does anyone know how I can change the directory?

Cheers,

Martin

Navigate to the folder you want, then select Set Home Folder from the Listing menu

Actually, i have another question about this synch'ing feature. It seems that the synch task gets added to the queue in Yummy FTP, but not saved anywhere else. So, when I restart the app or the reboot the computer, the synch task disappears. However, I would like the task to always run the background, whenever the computer is running. A bit like a cron job or a Windows scheduled task. Is that possible?

Cheers,

Martin

Sure, in the Synchronize setup window click the Schedule button and configure when you'd like the synchronization to occur.

Scheduled syncs are saved into your Bookmark, and the schedule will be executed as long as Yummy is running. You don't need to keep the FTP window open.

If you don't have a Bookmark, schedules have nowhere to be saved, so select Add Bookmark from the Bookmarks menu first.

OK, that seems to work. I have set the scheduled synch, closed and reopened Yummy FTP, opened the bookmark and the synch is still there.
Thanks a million!

Cheers,
